Micah didn’t stop screaming Stefan’s name until a strong, gloved hand clamped over his mouth. He bit down hard on it, and even though the leather, he knew his fangs would penetrate enough to cause pain.

“Ah!”

The man holding him hissed, stumbled, and dropped him.

Micah threw his hands out as he went down hard, desperate to protect his belly from the harsh landing.

“You fucking bitch!”

Micah glanced to the side just as a heavy boot appeared and kicked him in the face.

His entire body went after his face when Micah flew, but he still struggled to protect his stomach, something within him not daring to toy with the idea of his belly becoming injured.

He hoped they didn’t notice what he was working so hard to protect. Thank God he’d put that T-shirt on after his shower. He didn’t want them to see his belly and use it against him.

“Pick him back up!”

“He fucking bit me!”

“You got soft skin or something? Just grab him, princess, we need to move!”

The growl that came from the person who wanted to do the most harm to Micah wasn’t all that fun to listen to. He scrambled away, his adrenaline rushing as his body seemed too slow and sluggish to get very far away before the back of his leg was grabbed and he was yanked back against the man who had taken him.

“Let go!”

“Stop it!”

Micah yelled. Harsh, gloved fingers gripped one of his wolf ears in a mean fist that made the flesh and soft bones crumple in ways they weren’t meant to, but it was the other hand at his throat that made him finally comply and stop yelling.

“I will cut your fucking ears off and make you eat them if you don’t shut the fuck up. Understand?”

Micah whimpered, but he nodded, quickly. He didn’t want his ears cut off, and he didn’t want this man to hurt him either.

Better he threaten his ears than his belly. At least that was something.

Micah sighed when that harsh fist finally released his ear, but even when it flicked back into its original shape, that was enough to make the pain spike even more.

Oh God. He was either going to die or get taken back to Varrick. Varrick might kill him anyway when he found out what was growing in his belly. Micah couldn’t let this happen. He couldn’t let them do this.

“All right, let’s go. He’s not going to be anymore trouble.”

The man grabbed Micah by his wrist, dragging him along behind him while he and his friend started to run.

They really didn’t expect him to fight back. Was it that they really did see omegas as being that weak?

Maybe it was true, but Micah didn’t just have himself to think about anymore.

Even as they ran, Micah looked around at anything and everything they passed. It was only trees, some horned bushes, but he took it all in. Anything he could use for a weapon would be great. Would they expect him to hide
